The 13th Spring School of Immunology , sponsored by German Society for Immunology (DGFI), was held on March 5-10th, 2017, at Ettal Abbey,Bavaria,Germany. The aim of the Spring school is to share the recent achievements of Immunology, and to provide opportunity for deep communication of the young immunology researchers. Two students recommended by Chinese Society for Immunology attended the school.
On the first day, Prof. Michael Lohoff, the president of the 13th spring school introduced the basic information of DGFI, and Prof. Carl June from the University of Pennsylvania gave the participants a keynote speech named “Engineering T cells for cancer therapy”, to introduce some new frontier of CAR-T. In the next 5 days, 24 professors from the global world joined to the school and made brilliant speeches centered on 5 traditional and newly emerging topics: innate immunity, adaptive immunity, cutting edge: basics & perspectives, tumor/allergy/autoimmunity, and infection. Ms. Nadja Bakocevic, the associate editor of European Journal of Immunology also gave a short speech about scientific writing tips.
Chinese Society for Immunology gave thanks for the long-term support and trust by the German Society for Immunology. We believe the communication, cooperation and academic exchanges between Chinese and German scientists is good for both of us, and we will keep on making unremitting efforts and positive contributions in promoting the development of immunology in the two countries.
