6th Cross Straight Immunology Conference was held in Taipei

The 6th Cross Straight Immunology Conference, organized by Graduate Institute of Immunology, Taiwan University, has been held in Taipei, March 18-19th, 2017. The Opening Ceremony was presided over by Prof. Bingning Xu from Taiwan University, College of Medicine. Prof. Shiliang Xie from Taiwan Academia Sinica gave a welcome speech, briefly introducing the program and significance of this conference. Prof. Zhigang Tian from University of Science and Technology of China, President of Chinese Society for Immunology, introduced the prevoius five conferences and concluded that as a professional summit forum of immunology, this serial conference provides a wonderful face-to-face communicating opportunity for immunologists from Cross Straight. Prof. Tian also hopes that all meeting participants communicate extensively, discuss deeply and make achievements in the future based on the exchanges and communications of this conference. Prof. Fudong Liu, Deputy President of Taiwan Academia Sinica, and Prof. Borun Jiang, Deputy President of Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Taiwan University, also attended this conference.
During the conference, 24 immunologists from University of Science and Technology of China, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shandong University, Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Microbiology Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Immunology, Taiwan Academia Sinica, Taiwan University, Taiwan Yang-Ming University, Taiwan Tsing Hua University, Taiwan Chang Gung University, Taiwan Chang Gung Hospital, Taipei Medical University, Far Eastern Hospital, the University of Hong Kong, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, shared their new findings and discussed progresses in the field of immunology. More than one hundred experts, scholars and students of clinical and basic immunology attended this conference.
Cross Straight Immunology Conference was founded in 2010, attributed to proposal, coordination and guidance of Prof. Xuetao Cao, Secretary-General of Chinese Society for Immunology (President at that time). The mainland side was supported by Chinese Society for Immunology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and National Natural Science Foundation of China. It is suggested that the conference should be held once a year in Cross Straight in turn. The former five conferences have been held in 2010 at Guangzhou, 2011 at Taipei, 2012 at Hefei, 2014 at Taipei, and 2015 at Jinan, respectively.
